6th June 2016 NYMR
After a good breakfast in the Rob Roy Inn we headed for a day on the NYMR. A slightly delayed start to the journey and a somewhat ambitious journey time saw us head for Levisham station instead of Grosmont, but this gave us chance to grab a pic of the first southbound train of the day at Darnholm. The Moors was suffering from a lack of steam traction and unusually all trains were going to be diesel hauled on the day of our visit, utilising class 25 D7628, 37264, 55022 and the Met Cam unit. In the end, they managed to batter the S160 back into life and that worked one of the afternoon departures. An excellent end to a superb 10 days away. Back home with a suntan that people find hard to believe I picked up in Scotland!
