4th - 5th June 2016 Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway
After grabbing a shot of the Sleeper departing Spean Bridge we started retracing our steps back south, heading for the Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway. Sadly, no Mixed Traffic Gala this year, instead the basic 4 trains a day timetable, with the last train of the day scheduled to be diesel hauled. The J94 0-6-0ST was in steam, but having set off lineside fires earlier in the week, on Saturday it was being piloting 20020 up hill to Manuel Junction, returning top and tail with the diesel. The 20 was swapped with 37703 for the last train of the day, with the 37 working all day Sunday with the Kettle and on it's own for the last train of the day again.
Overnight stop in the Richmond Park Hotel in Bo'ness who did us a big favour in rebooking our room at a fraction of the price we had reserved it for via Hotels.com. Saturday evening food and drink were taken in the Corbie Inn. On Sunday, after taking a shot of the 37 we headed to Berwick Upon Tweed for an overnight stop in the very comfortable Rob Roy Inn in Tweedmouth and enjoying the craic in Curfew and the Barrels Ale House.
